Virtual Card Set 2014 – Messing With The Time Stream!

The cool thing about the Bulma cards that we made is that while they’re all made to specifically help the Bulma the Wife archetype, we made them non-specific to the Bulma personality and they each can have a useful function in control and other deck types. We also tried to capture specific things about the Bulma character for her cards. Now there is already a card about Time Traveling that I have already complained about being a terrible card about a huge plot point. So I wanted to go back and make something a bit more flavorful as well as useful.

24 Future Time Machine

It’s an interesting card for sure. You miss out on an ally or non-combat for a combat, but you can use that time travel ability to mess with your opponent’s board as well. At the end of the turn, your time traveler returns (if you so choose) while your opponent’s card could be lost in time and space. Even Cell took advantage of a Time Machine built by Bulma, so this card can be used by heroes and villains alike. It could be an effective way to protect on of your Drills that are only use when entering combat like Victorious Drill or Vegeta’s Quickness Drill. As a villain you could protect the Space Pirate Chilled (a time displaced ally himself) during combat or as a hero you could choose a new target for Caught Off Guard Drill. Because of the “Do What You Can Rule”, neither you or your opponent needs to have a non-combat or ally card in play for Time Machine to work, but if there is a legal target then it must be hit by some time travelling shenanigans.

Now as for it’s usefulness to Bulma the Wife, since it’s not Bulma named it won’t trigger her power but you can use it to target a less than useful Bulma named card like Bulma Finds a Dragon Ball or Bulma Finds a Drill, which will trigger Bulma’s power as it leaves play and then is returned to play later on in combat for another go at triggering Bulma’s power. Causing four discards and removing an opponent’s ally or non-combat, plus getting your card back for another potential four discards later on is not too shabby. Plus it works well with a new once-per-combat Bulma Drill we’ll reveal on Friday.

That’s it for today, check back on Wednesday for a Bulma location that we somewhat previewed earlier on.

Later, BroZ!
