This is the final card for the Kami personality set, and it’s a win condition in it’s own right.
Kami acts as the God of Earth, and here he does his realm justice. As creator of the Dragon Balls, with seven or more Battlegrounds/Locations in play he disperses the Dragon Balls around the world. If his energy attack is successful that is it. Once Kami gets seven or more Battlegrounds/Locations in play, be on the lookout for a Goku’s Farewell or any method to get that into play. Of course, that goes double if Kami actually makes it to Lv. 4. Keep an energy block in your hand at all costs during this match-up. Of course, a Goku Swiftly Moving could turn the tides of any match against Kami real quick.
That’s it for Kami. Later, BroZ!
Not sure how I feel about this.
X2 I’m not sure if this is overpowered or a complete waste. Hmmm…..
It can be a slippery slope when you introduce mechanics like Kami’s and new win conditions. I think time will tell.
The picture you guys used on the article should’ve been the picture you used for the card. So much more BA.
Alternate win conditions are always a bad idea.
Awesome Dragon Ball-esch win condition. Sucks you have to give up all the powerful stuff from the L3 but well worth it. Comet Kumolre lol.
I am not sure about Kami. Comet Kumolre would be the only defense against Kami. I would hate to have to make it a staple that everyone has to run in fear of facing Kami. Then again, Kami is so weak, would he even withstand a physical beatdown? Not to mention that the energy attack has to be successful to win.
Well I put together a kami free style, yesterday and play tested it (still want to play more games with him) against a beat deck, for the life of me I can’t remember the locations off the top of my head at the moment but it made it cost +2 power stages to play a physical attack, then I made it cost +2 life cards to play a named card, and finally made focused attacks cost +3 power stages. So combined with an attack form kami half of the time the could only defend cause they couldn’t do more then one attack a turn( wile drawing 5-6 cards and having to discard most of them).
Alternate win conditions are usually bad, but having it on a level 4 with extremely lower powerlevels isn’t bad. But all that desense you can build up with locations/battlegrounds, he’s gonna be scary. I can see a lot of Land in Pain teching.
Yeah that’s the big fear for this deck at the time, I see a lot of use for power of cookies.
Land in pain wrecks this deck, so black scout and similar are a must for this deck.
I would like to post my deck list for kami to see what tweaks can be made.
I think it would be nice if you guys did a different version of “fusion” with piccolo and Kami where you overlay them and could use both of there powers and have both of there power stages. But the Fusion card they use could be Namekian named so we could bring back the real namekian deck not people that just use Cell or Pikkon.
Cell is a Real Namekian
I’ve done some kami testing this weekend. Still early in the testing but I don’t think you need to run any tech vs kami if you deck is. He has a cute ability but really easy to beat.
****if your deck is atleast average speed.
In our testing, Kami was most dangerous with Goku’s Farewell (if you’re going for the alt win). Keeping that off the board keeps you safe. Kami is much more stable if you focus on a few locations (BGs are iffy) and his level 2/3 ability.
I was doing the most damage as level 2, had 7 locations in play and hit a few 13 life card energy attacks, I want to work in a few supreme kai pushes to keep me at that level.
Is the CRD going to be updated to include Kami as a Namekian Heritage personality? Currently he is not in there so therefore can not be legally played in Namekian Tokui-Waza or use “Namekian Heritage Only” cards.
We usually include play tips, deck ideas and common rulings questions in the articles that accompany virtual card reveals. Your concern was addressed here: http://retrodbzccgcom.fatcow.com/2013/03/17/virtual-set-2013-he-who-watches/
Yeah I understand I was just wondering about the official rulings document. I know the intention is to have Kami as Namekian but I guess in an tournament setting someone could douche it up and say “it’s not in the CRD”.
Not a fan to be honest. The whole additional battleground/location theme to me is far-fetched. There aren’t enough good ones out there to justify having them in the deck and this particular winning method is not only unconventional but mediocre at best. Would have been better off making him more of an ally friendly mp.
I can get down with that Cabbageman. He did spend alot of time training the Earth heroes of the show.
